EDUCATION FOUNDATION FOR BEND-LA PINE SCHOOLS PARTNERSHIP WITH MT. BACHELOR RAISES $17,500 FOR LOCAL SCHOOLS

April 17, 2023. Bend, Oregon: The Education Foundation for Bend LaPine Schools proudly announced its continued partnership with Mt. Bachelor and the Ski 4 Schools program, now in its 18th year. This popular program offers low priced tickets to skiers and snowboarders and directs the proceeds to local area schools. Since 2005, Mt. Bachelor has generously donated over $200,000 to support students in Bend-La Pine Schools through the Education Foundation's Activity Fee Scholarship program.

Each year, the program funds approximately 550 student activity fees at 16 middle schools and high schools in the district. The 2023 Ski 4 Schools program raised $17,500 for student activity fees and funded approximately 75 percent of the activity fee requests, which totaled nearly $30,000.

“The Ski 4 Schools program is a vital component of the Education Foundation’s ability to equitably fund student activity fees for middle and high school students. We are grateful for the long-standing partnership with Mt.Bachelor and their generous commitment to our students and families,” remarked Odette Adair, Education Foundation Board President.

“We really owe a ‘big thanks’ to all our guests who came out to participate in this program with us. It’s because of them that we’re able to make a positive impact for these students. All of us at Mt. Bachelor are grateful to have the opportunity to facilitate Ski 4 Schools and give back to our community,” added Brian Dobias, interim general manager at Mt. Bachelor.

With more than 5,000 students participating in activities each year throughout Bend-La Pine schools, every dollar counts to help keep them engaged in their education through activities. This anonymous, need-based program, serves students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.
